Dividends are payments released by corporations to their shareholders, generally as a way to distribute profits as a reward for their investment in the company.
A company should declare dividends only when its decision-makers are sure that it has profits that it can pay dividends from
Generally there are two types of dividend - an Interim Dividend paid during the year and a Final Dividend paid at year-end. Directors can declare and pay dividends.
How to prepare a dividend statement
From the Main Toolbar, go to Company |

Select the Company from the list |

Select Shareholders |
Click
Select Add Dividend.
Instructions
CAS 360 will display the Add Dividend screen.

Explaination

Date Declared | Date the dividends declared by the company directors. |
Use Date Declared as the Document Date? | Toggle YES to use the date declared as the document date of meeting minutes. |
Share Type | Choose a company share type which dividends will be paid for. |
Amount type | Select either Dividend Per Share or Total Dividend. |
Dividend Amount | Enter the amount paid per share or the total amount paid to all shareholders (depending on the amount type selected). |
Dividend Type | Final (issued at the end of the fiscal year), Interim (issued before AGM), Special (separate from the typical dividend cycle) or Other. |
Dividend Payment | How the dividend is paid to the Company Shareholders. Select either Dividend Paid in Cash, Dividend Credited to Loan Account or Other. |
Payment Date | Date the dividend is paid. |
Payment Currency | Enter the Currency Symbol (for example SG, Singapore Dollar $) |

By selecting Save & Prepare Documents. CAS 360 will display the Document Production screen and automatically select the documents required
Select the icon to change any of the document settings. Different options will appear depending on the document type.
